Unique holiday resort in East Lapland

Suomu is located in the Kemijärvi Municipality in the middle of a vast forest region in the heart of the wilderness. It lies in a densely wooded area that provides opportunities for cross-country and downhill skiers, with plenty of soft snow. In summertime people go to Suomu’s heath forests and pond banks to collect blueberries and lingonberries. Traditionally, the region is a reindeer husbandry area and hikers will often see reindeer feeding on lichen.
